Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... πΆπ΅ - maybe not all at once! βοΈβοΈ
With the first measurable snowfall happening this past weekend, this is a great time for the annual reminder of what the Village Ordinance says in regards to snow removal on sidewalks. Owners/occupants/persons in charge of each/every building/structure/unoccupied lot/etc. in the Village ... shall clean/cause to be cleaned, the sidewalk ... of snow or ice to the width *THE WHOLE WIDTH* of such sidewalk within 24 hours after the cessation of a snowfall. If a person fails to remove the snow/ice, there are penalties of $25.00 for 24 hours, $50.00 for 48 hours, $75.00 for 72 hours. And if not removed, the Village Public Works Department will remove said snow/ice at a rate of minimum $50.00/hour for manhours PLUS $75.00/hour machine charge. Both 1 (one) hour minimums. **rates may vary based on equipment used**
